FAQs
Royce Integrated Solutions
Do you install and service both gates and access control systems?
Yes, we're equipped to work with properties that have existing equipment and also complete new installations from the ground up. We serve parking facilities, condominiums, commercial office buildings, and gated communities with access control systems, gate and entry systems, fencing, and CCTV solutions.Do you build all the gates you install?
Yes, every gate we install is custom-built in our advanced fabrication facility. Contact us today to learn more about how we design, build, and install gate and entry systems.Which areas do you service?
We provide service throughout the entire state of Florida for all commercial clients. To schedule your access control systems installation, call us at (954) 507-3997.If we need service for our gates and/or access control, how long will it take before you can get a technician out to us?
Based on your location, we can usually have a technician at your property within 24 hours. In most cases, we'll be there the same day or the following day at the latest. If you're having issues with your gate and entry systems, contact us right away.If my gate got hit and needs to be rebuilt, how long does it typically take?
Our standard turnaround time is two to four weeks, though this depends on the complexity of the gate design and how many gates require rebuilding. Contact us today to get started with your commercial fencing and gate repair. What do I do if my gate won't open?
First, check if your gate is receiving power by looking for lights inside the operator. If there are no lights, the problem is likely a power outage and your gate should work again once power returns. If lights are visible, the issue may be more involved. For gates operated by remotes, try replacing the batteries. If you see error codes flashing, consult your user manual for guidance. When these steps don't resolve the problem, contact a professional gate and entry systems company like Royce Integrated Solutions to schedule a service call.
Until a technician arrives, you can manually operate your gates using these methods:
Swing gate - Remove the operator's top cover using the key or release knob. Turn the clamp handle 180 degrees to release pressure on the swing gate arm. You can then either lift the arm off the output shaft or push the gate open manually.
Slide gate - Unscrew and remove the chain bolt at either end of the slide gate. Once disconnected, you can open the gate by hand.
Barrier gate - Remove the barrier arm by unscrewing the plastic nuts on the back of the arm.
Overhead gate - Insert your key into the body and turn counterclockwise to unlock. Pull the release pin down to disengage the trolley, then manually lift the gate to the fully open position. Why won't my gate close?
Many factors can prevent a gate from closing, and the specific type of gate you have will influence the most likely causes. Across all gate types, the most common failures in gate and entry systems occur due to these issues:
Sensors that are misaligned
Damaged or obstructed tracks
Worn hinges
Faulty wheels
Blown fuses
Tripped breakersWhat should I do in preparation for bad weather, such as a hurricane?
Move all gates to the open position and turn off power to them. This protects electrical components from damage caused by power surges. If you have barrier gates, remove and store the arms. For swing gates, secure them with rope by tying one end to the open gate and the other to a stable object such as a tree, sign, or stake driven into the ground. For slide gates, use rope to secure the gate to its posts. Contact us for additional guidance on protecting your gate and entry systems during severe weather. How do I protect my equipment from lightning damage?
Lightning strikes can send power surges through the air, ground, and conductive materials, which can damage sensitive electronic components and lead to system failure or require complete replacement. We recommend these protective measures:
Inspection - Plan ahead and prepare for severe weather. Have your gate and entry systems professionally inspected once per year to check for faulty hardware, loose wiring, battery backups, adequate surge protection, and other potential issues.
Ground your system - Proper grounding provides four key benefits:
(1) It drains accumulated charges so lightning is less likely to strike your system.
(2) If lightning does strike or high charges build up, grounding provides a safe discharge path directly to earth instead of through your wiring.
(3) It minimizes shock hazards from higher voltage (AC) components in your system.
(4) It reduces electrical hum and radio interference from inverters, motors, fluorescent lights, and similar devices.
Surge protectors - Surge protectors prevent power spikes from damaging the motherboard, hard drive, power supply, and other devices commonly found in gate operators and access control hardware.
Battery backup - Battery backups are critical for gates, door strikes, elevators, and access control equipment. A battery backup keeps essential equipment running until utility power returns or until systems can be shut down safely.
Water damage prevention - Water inside gate operators or access control devices can cause shorts or voltage surges that damage your entire system. Our old gate system gives us constant headaches. What can we do to upgrade and what are some of the new technologies?
Upgrading some or all system components is often an excellent solution. In many cases, the gates themselves are still functional, but the supporting equipment has become old and unreliable. When you upgrade your equipment, you'll gain access to numerous modern options along with a new warranty. When you speak with a professional at Royce Integrated Solutions, we'll discuss your needs and preferences, then recommend gate and entry systems that match your requirements. Contact us today to begin your upgrade.
