    • Do you build all the gates you install?

Yes, all the gates we install are custom-built within our state-of-the-art fabrication facility. Give us a call today to learn more about our process of building and installing gate and entry systems.

    • Which areas do you service?

We currently service the entire State of Florida for all of our commercial customers. To schedule your access control systems installation today, give us a call at (954) 507-3997.

    • If we need service for our gates and/or access control, how long will it take before you can get a technician out to us?

Depending on your location, we can typically service your property within 24 hours. In the worst-case scenario, we'll arrive the very next day. If you're experiencing any problems with your gate and entry systems, be sure to give us a call ASAP!

    • If my gate got hit and needs to be rebuilt, how long does it typically take?

Depending on how intricate the gate design is or how many gates need to be rebuilt, our standard turnaround is two to four weeks. To get started with our commercial fencing and gates, give us a call today.

    • What do I do if my gate won’t open?

The first thing you need to do is make sure your gate is still receiving power. This can be done by simply verifying if there are any lights on inside the operator. If no lights are on, the issue is most likely due to a power outage and the gate will resume functioning once power is restored. If lights are on, then the issue could be more complex. If you use remotes to open the gate, the problem could be related to the batteries. Try replacing them to see if that resolves the issue. If you see any error codes flashing, refer to the user manual to find out what that means. If all else fails, call a professional gate and entry systems company like Royce Integrated Solutions to schedule a service call.

In the meantime, you can manually open/close your gates until a professional arrives. Here is how:

Swing Gate - Remove the top cover of the gate operator. This is typically accomplished by either a key or release knob. Turn the clamp handle 180 degrees to release the pressure on the swing gate arm. Here, you can either remove the arm by lifting it off the output shaft or by physically pushing the gate open.

Slide gate – Unscrew and remove the chain bolt located at either end of the slide gate. Once the chain is disconnected, you can physically open the gate.

Barrier Gate – Remove the barrier arm. This can be done by unscrewing the plastic nuts located on the back of the arm.

Overhead Gate – Insert your key into the body and turn it counterclockwise to unlock. Pull the release pin down to disengage the trolley. Now, you can manually lift the gate to the fully open position.

    • Why won’t my gate close?

There are numerous factors that could prevent your gate from closing. The type of gate you have will determine what the common causes of failure might be. Regardless of the type, the most common failures in gate and entry systems are due to the following situations:

      • Sensors are out of alignment
      • Track is damaged or obstructed
      • Hinges are worn
      • Wheels are bad
      • Fuse is blown
      • Breaker is tripped
    • What should I do in preparation for bad weather, such as a hurricane?

Make sure all your gates are in the open position and powered down. This will prevent the electrical components from getting damaged due to an electrical surge. If you have barrier gates, remove and store the arms. For swing gates, tie the rope around one end of the open gate and the other to a sturdy object (tree, sign, hammering a stake into the ground, etc.). For a slide gate, use the rope to tie around the gate and its posts. For more tips on how to keep your gate and entry systems safe during storms, give us a call today.

    • How do I protect my equipment from lightning damage?

Power surges from a lightning strike can travel through the air, the ground, and other conductive material. These power surges can damage your sensitive electronic components, causing system failure or the need for full system replacement. To make sure this doesn’t happen, we recommend the following:

Inspection - Plan ahead and make sure you are properly prepared for undesirable weather. Have your gate and entry systems professionally inspected annually for faulty hardware, loose wiring, battery backups, proper surge protection, etc.

Ground Your System - Grounding your system does four things:

      (1) It drains off accumulated charges so that lightning is not highly attracted to your system.

      (2) If lightning does strike, or if a high charge does build up, your ground connection provides a safe path for discharge directly to the earth rather than through your wiring.

      (3) It reduces shock hazards from the higher voltage (AC) parts of your system.

      (4) It reduces electrical hum and radio noise caused by inverters, motors, fluorescent lights, and other devices.

Surge Protectors - A surge protector will prevent a power spike from burning out the motherboard, hard drive, power supply, and other devices most commonly found in gate operators and access control hardware.

Battery Backup - Battery backups are essential for gates, door strikes, elevators, access control equipment, etc. A battery backup can maintain the operation of critical equipment until utility power is restored or until the equipment can be properly shut down.

Water Damage Prevention - If water is present within your gate operators or access control devices, shortages or voltage surges can damage your entire system.

    • Our old gate system gives us constant headaches. What can we do to upgrade and what are some of the new technologies?

Upgrading some or all the system components is always a good idea. Many times, the gates are fine, but the ancillary equipment is old and worn out. By upgrading your equipment, not only will you get a plethora of options to choose from, but also a brand-new warranty. If you speak with a professional at Royce Integrated Solutions, we will go over your wants and needs. Using this info, we'll suggest a few gate and entry systems that meet your requirements.
